Physiotherapists that specialise in Sports are also specialists at analysing your movement, as we have expertise in this field. We analyse your biomechanics to determine what factors are affecting your pain or problem. We have a problem-solving approach to complex or long-standing or chronic conditions.
Whilst many clinics offer sports injury treatment, the level of specialisation differs. With the experience of working with athletes at elite Olympic and international level, you are offered the same level of skill and commitment to getting better, whether you just want to get up out of your chair without pain or perform you personal best in an event.
Sports physiotherapists are accustomed to working in a results driven environment. That means we recognise what is needed to make a difference and will do everything in our ability to get a good treatment outcome, recognising the impact of the injury on the client. We are also accustomed to working in a pressured environment where time and result matter. For the public, that means we apply all those skills to your condition and give you the same level of care.
For runners, we offer an assessment of your running injury problem, which may include: a biomechanical assessment (including a video analysis of running style in relation to your injury if appropriate), running specific exercises and running drills to facilitate a reduction in injuries. Please bring your running shoes and shorts. If you want to know what skills sports teach you, you can read this article.
