Screening is a pro-active approach to injury prevention. We believe the more knowledge you have about your body, the better you can make individualised choices about your fitness routine and exercise selection. Whether it’s posture you want to improve, or you have planned a physical event and want direction. It’s also suitable if you have a known issue which you don’t want to deteriorate.
We take a hands on approach if you are in pain, and a preventative approach if you aren’t. Movement and posture problems often start in early life or even childhood. On the other end of the age spectrum, the natural ageing process can result in a declining strength or body alignment resulting in strain on the skeletal system. Preventative physiotherapy is for all ages
Here are examples of the approach we take:
- Functional movement or posture screening to assess movement and to aid injury prevention, using evidence based assessment.
- Pre-season concussion testing for adults and children from the age of seven. This involves taking medically recognised baseline measurements using concussion assessment tools. These measurements can be used as a reference in the event of head injury.
- Hypermobility assessment. If you have concerns that you may have problems relating to joint hypermobility, we offer a assessment using medically recognised criteria as part of an assessment for joint hypermobility and hypermobility screening (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome).
